Brief description A nature repair plan for agricultural productivity and biodiversity. This project aims to produce an evidence-based plan to restore Australian agricultural regions to maximise agricultural productivity and biodiversity conservation, in line with international commitments. This is urgently needed to address biodiversity decline, land degradation and threats to Australian and global food security. Expected outcomes include detailed knowledge of the relationships between cover of native vegetation, insect-eating bat and bird communities and their capacity to deliver control of crop pests; and a detailed map pinpointing where restoration would be of greatest benefit. Significant benefits include enhanced agricultural productivity, reduced reliance on pesticides, and biodiversity conservation are expected.
