This study examined the River Murray sediment plume, which was produced during the major flood event of 2022-2023. This flood resulted from successive La Niña events, causing high rainfall across the Murray-Darling Basin and ultimately leading to significant riverine flow through South Australia. The flood was characterised by a significant increase in riverine discharge rates, reaching a peak of 112,707 ML/day through the Lower Lakes barrage system from November 2022 to February 2023.
