Brief description Depression is the most prevalent health problem in young people, with a prevalence as high as 24 percent. There is evidence demonstrating a link between depression and chronic inflammation and oxidative stress, suggesting that drugs which modulate those factors may have antidepressant properties. This study is designed to establish whether the use of (i) rosuvastatin or (ii) aspirin, two drugs that modulate both the inflammatory and oxidative systems, reduce symptoms of depression in young people with major depression.
