Brief description Advanced medical treatments come with a high risk of life-threatening microbial infections, and rising antimicrobial drug resistance demands innovative therapeutic strategies. In this project, we will characterize metabolic regulation as a novel therapeutic target in infection, focusing on the human fungal pathogen Candida albicans that causes hospital infections with 40% mortality. Our outcomes will be broadly relevant to designing improved therapies against infectious diseases.
