Brief description Dysfunctional mitochondria cause a diverse group of multi-system human pathologies that often result in severe, progressive and lethal diseases for which there are no effective treatments. This project will use important new models of mitochondrial disease to examine the onset, progression and pathophysiology of these disorders – revealing the reasons for the tissue-specific effects and providing a basis for future treatments.
