Brief description An assessment of the fundamental size limits for planar antennas using unconstrained optimisation methods. Portable wireless devices can be reduced in size and battery demands through best practice antenna design. The absolute size limits recently developed for ideal structures will be tested against real printed antenna structures using powerful computational tools and experimental demonstration for sensor networks in health care applications.
