Brief description

Perpendicular seismic refraction profiles collected at 11 sites along and across the ice flow unit boundary between ice units coming from the Lambert Glacier and the Mawson Escarpment Ice Stream. Survey sites are located upstream of Gillock Island.

Maintenance and Update Frequency: notPlanned
Statement: The sources consisted of Orica Pentex 110 g charges that were detonated along the seismic profile to provide continuous and overlapping coverage from –480 to +480 m offset. The seismic data comprise of 2.048 s records at a 4000 Hz sample rate. The along-flow and across-flow seismic profiles intersect at the centres of each profile. Each profile was conducted with a 24 channel geophone spread with groups of four 14 Hz geophones placed at a 10 m spacing.
