Full description

Based on the agreement with NSF, the monochromatic all-sky CCD imager was installed at South Pole Station in 1997 to observe the auroral and airglow phenomena. The imager has a filter turret for 5 different filters. Three main filters in 427.8(N2+), 557.7(OI), 630.0(OI) nm with other ones in 730.0(OH), 589.0(Na) and 486.1(Hb) nm were used so far. Image resolution of the CCD is 512x512 with 14 bit. Observed data were transferred to NIPR via TDRS satellite network. The first campaign of this observation ended in 2005 due to the end of the agreement.
