Alfred Hitchcock - often dubbed "the Master of Suspense" - is arguably the most widely known and written about film director of all time. Born in the East London suburb of Leytonstone, Hithcock made his name with numerous British films - including The 39 Steps (1935), The Lady Vanishes (1938) and Rebecca (1940) - before moving to Hollywood where his most famous work was produced, such as Vertigo (1958), North by Northwest (1959) and Psycho (1960). This collection consists of Hitchcock related material at the AFI Research Collection, which includes books as well as book chapters and clippings files about Hitchcock and his films.User Contributed Tags
