The Airways Museum holds significant equipment relating to the broadcasting and receiving of air transport telecommunications information. A Marconi S.W.B.8W HF Radio Transmitter used in Darwin by the Australian Army in World War II, and commonly referred to as 'Swab 8s' http://www.airwaysmuseum.com/Museum%20SWB8%20close%20up.htm The Mildura Flight Service Console typical of the equipment installed at Flight Service Units (FSUs) throughout regional Australia from the late 1960s, this console was in use in Victoria from 1969 until 1984, http://www.airwaysmuseum.com/Museum%20MI%20FS%2060s.htm. Melbourne Flight Information Service ML FIS 15 Console typical of the final generation of consoles used in the major capital city Flight Service Centres throughout the 1990s. Operator's console for the Bellini-Tosi Medium Frequency Direction Finder (MF DF).
