Blacktown Fire Brigade was formed in 1927. A fire station was established in the Council building and a horse drawn fire turbine was supplied. (1) It was registered as fire station No. 63. (2) In 1961, a new fire station was built on Austral Street and was permanently staffed with four full-time firefighters, superseding the volunteer brigade. (3) The station moved to premises on the corner of Hereward Highway and Kempsey Street in 1971 before later relocating to the Richmond Road site. (4)
As of 2026, Blacktown Fire Station was part of Area Command Metropolitan West and Zone Metropolitan West 1 - Cumberland; its address was 222 Richmond Road, Woodcroft. (5)
