Full description
Hornsby Fire Station was established on 3 August 1914 operating from a cottage in Peats Ferry Road (Pacific Highway). The first permanent station was erected in 1925, further down Peats Ferry Road. On 5 January 1971 a petrol tanker overturned in front of the fire station and the station was destroyed by fire. The brigade continued to operate out of Council premises at 90 George Street until a new station was built at 2 Bridge Road, Hornsby which opened on 21 April 1972. (1)
Hornsby Fire Station was part of Zone Metropolitan East 2 - Sydney North and, in 2015, its address was 2 Bridge Road, Hornsby. (2)
In 2021 Hornsby Station (station 050) was situated in Metro East 2 (ME2) Zone and its address was 2 Bridge Road Hornsby. (3)
