Full description

Maroubra Junction Public School in the County of Cumberland opened in January 1913.(1)  In 1913 a public school required at least 20 pupils to open. (2) It was known as Lilyville Public School until March 1923. (3)

In 1927 the school added a Junior Technical School for boys and an Home Science School for girls. (4) The Junior Technical School closed in 1952 and the Home Science School continued until 1961. (5)

In 1962 the Maroubra Junction Girls High School opened, and the Admission Register for the Home Science School was carried across to the new school where it was used until the end of 1964. (6)

The public school remains open in March 2015. (7)
