Full description
New Vale Provisional School in the County of Cook was established in July 1891. (1) Provisional Schools were opened in area of smaller populations where insufficient children attended to justify the opening of a full public school. By 1891 twelve students were required to maintain a provisional school. (2)
In January 1892 New Vale Provisional School was upgraded to a Public School. (3) From 1892 the attendance of twenty children was required for the establishment of a Public School. (4)
In August 1910 New Vale Public School changed its name to Zig Zag Public School. (5)
As of 2014, Zig Zag Public School is still open. (6)
