Bokhara Provisional School in the County of Narran opened in January 1882. (1)
In 1882 the establishment of a Provisional School required a minimum of 12 students. (2) It became a Public School in June 1882. The school was renamed Goodooga Public School in July 1884. (3)
In 1966 Goodooga became a Central School providing both primary and secondary education. Central schools were established in country districts where the population was too small to support a high school. (4)
As of 2014 Goodooga Central School was still open. (5)
