Bishopsgate National School in the County of Cumberland opened in 1858. (1)
The school underwent several name changes during its tenure. The school was established as Bishopsgate National School in 1858 and Glebe National School until 1867 when it became a Public School. The attendance of 20 students was required for a Public School in 1880. In 1884, Glebe became a Superior Public School providing both primary and post-primary education. In 1913, it became a Home Science School which provided home science and commercial training for girls as well as a Junior Technical School providing post-primary technical training for boys to enter a skilled trade. It reverted to a Public School in 1959. (2)
As of 2014 Glebe Public School was still open. (3)
