Full description
Wandsworth Provisional School [III] in the County of Hardinge was established in May 1923. (1) Provisional Schools were opened in areas of smaller populations where insufficient children attended to justify the opening of a full public school. By 1923 ten students were required to maintain a provisional school. Usually the Department of Public Instruction supplied the teacher, books and other teaching materials and the parents provided the premises for the School. (2)
The School closed in November 1934. (3)
Schools were established at Wandsworth from 1872 to 1875 and 1884 to 1911. Schools subsequently operated there from 1949 to 1970. (4)
