Effective 15 December 1915, a new Bellingen Shire was reconstituted. The City of Grafton, Municipality of Maclean, Municipality of South Grafton, Municipality of Ulmarra, Shire of Bellingen, Shire of Copmanhurst, Shire of Dorrigo, Shire of Harwood, Shire of Nymboida and Shire of Orara were reorganized into seven areas: Shires of Bellingen, Coffs, Copmanhurst, Maclean, Nymboida and Ulmarra. (1)
From 1 January 1957, some areas of the Shire were given to Dorrigo and a new Provisional Council was appointed consisting of the following six Councillors: Wilfred Alvin Ballard, Eric Roy Christian, Ernst James Cooper, William Horace Johnson, John Hedley Skeoch and Claude Kendall Wingit. (2) As of 2021, the Bellingen Shire Council area covered some 1602 square kilometres. (3)
