Effective 1 January 1975, the Municipality of Tenterfield and Shire of Tenterfield amalgamated to form the newly constituted Tenterfield Shire Council. (1)
The Provisional Council comprised 10 Councillors: Donald Donovan, Frank Kelvin Fredericksen, Jack Hollibone Hamilton, Charles Rodney Johnson, Harold Mervyn McCowen, Francis Thomas Williams, Roger Hardinge Braham, Harold Patrick Joseph Connolly, Alexander Peter Forrest and Eric Clive Geyer. (2)
