Full description
In 1856 Thomas C. Battley held the position of District Registrar for Gosford, and was responsible for the registration of all births, deaths, and marriages in the District. (1) By the following year the Registry Districts had been distributed into 10 divisions, with Gosford included in the East Midland Division. (2)
