Tooraweenah Police Station [II] was opened on 11 June 1947 when Acting Inspector William H. Johnson visited the station with Sergeant 3/C Beaton of Gilgandra and Constable Abbott who was possibly new to the service.

Responsibility for the premises, books and records [presumably the partly used records from the previous Tooraweenah Police Station] were handed over to the Constable. Application was made for additional books and stationery required including receipt and other books necessary for the work in connection with the Motor Traffic Registry. The Constable was instructed in the care and use of the books and other records and his responsibilities for prisoners that were admitted to the Station. 'All prominent citizens in the area were contacted and agreed to co-operate with the Constable." A 'Police' sign for the premises was ordered and arrangements were made with the Department of Public Works for the provision of cell accommodation. A telephone was installed. The Constable expressed satisfaction with the residence that formed part of the premises. The Acting Inspector gave him further instructions concerning his duties including under the Liquor Act, and advised him to contact the station at Gilgandra or the Inspector himself should he require any further instructions concerning his duties.
