The responsibility for esigning school buidlings returned to a newly-established Architect's Branch within the Deparment of Eduication by 1913 with the first appointment listed as July 1912 (1) In 1931 the Architects Branch staff list included draftsmen, inspector of painters and repairers work, clerk of works, and furniture (2), but was not found listed as a Branch after this. By 1951 the brnch was succeeded by a Properties Division which was composed of a building branch which included painting and repair staff, furniture workshops, sites branch, stores branch, and school gardening staff.(3) The responsibility appears to have remained her until the creation of the Properties Division in 1951.
