Full description

The South-Western District of District Court [I] was established by 1862.

In 1879 sittings of the District Court within the South-Western District were held at: Burrowa, Young, Grenfell, Gundagai, Tumut, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Corowa, Moama, Deniliquin, Hay, Balranald and Wentworth. (1)

It was reconstituted in June 1973 when the District Courts assumed a Criminal jurisdiction in addition to their existing Civil jurisdiction.
