The Newcastle District Court [I] was established by 8 March 1860 when Henry Baker was appointed Registrar. (1) The Court exercised a Civil Jurisdiction and continued until 30 June 1973 when the District Court was reconstituted to include a Criminal in addition to its existing Civil Jurisdiction.End Notes
