It appears that the Goulburn District Court [I] was established by 16 May 1859. (1) Francis Robert Louis Rossi was appointed Registrar on 11 August 1870. (2)By 1862 the Court was administered by the Southern [I] District where it remained until 1902. It was later administered by the Southern and Hunter District from 1903 until 1908, the South-Western District from 1909 until 1954 and the Southern District [II] from 1955 until 1973. The Court closed on 30 June 1973 when the District Court was restructured to acquire a Criminal as well as a Civil jurisdiction.
