Full description

The Division of Regional Extension Services was established in April 1957. (1)

The major functions and responsibilities of the Division included: administration of seven agricultural regions; Administration of District offices; administering advisory committees; conducting schools for farmers in regional areas, and conducting field day and exhibitions at Agricultural shows. The Division also employed regional Publicity officers. (2)

In January 1968, the Division of Regional Extension Services was amalgamated with parts of the Division of Information Services to form the Division of Extension Services. The parts of the Division of Information Services transferred included responsibility for administering the Agricultural Bureau, Allied Group Extension, Women’s Extension Service, and Audio Visual Aids Service (3)
