Full description

Glebe Volunteer Fire Company was established at Glebe in 1877. (1) It was registered as No. 24 by the Fire Brigades Board in 1885. The fire station was initially located in Mitchell Street in the Glebe Municipality. (2)

A site in St John’s Road, Glebe was resumed on 13 May 1904. (3) A building was constructed which opened on 13 June 1906. (4)

On 1 June 1909 Glebe was listed as Station No. 18. Its Captain was George Charlton and there were nine other firemen. (5) The first appointment of permanent staff was made in 1911. (6)

In 1999 Glebe was located in the South West Region in Zone 1 with Brigade Number 18. (7)

In 2000 the address of the station was 73 St Johns Road, Glebe. (8)

In 2021 Glebe Fire Station (station 018) was situated in the Metro East 1 (ME1) Zone and its address was 75 St Johns Road, Glebe. (9)
