Full description
Waterloo Public School in the county of Cumberland, operated from September 1882 until April 1893 (1). The attendance of 25 children was required in 1882 for the establishment of a Public School. (2)
Waterloo Superior Public School operated from April 1893 until about 1910 (3). Superior Public Schools were public schools that were officially recognised as providing both primary and post-primary education. (4)
Waterloo Public School operated from around 1910 until December 1943. (5) Waterloo then operated as a Central School from January 1944 until December 1947. (6) A Central School is a school that contains both primary and secondary sections, and provides secondary education for children from nearby primary schools as well as from its own primary section. (7)
Waterloo once again operated as a Public School from January 1948 until December 2002 when it merged into Alexandria Park Community School in January 2003 (8).
