Hebden Public School in the County of Durham was opened in October 1912 and remained as a Public School until its closure in December 1973.(1) At the time of the establishment of this school, a minimum attendance of twenty children was required. This regulation had been in place since 1880. From 1957, the minimum number was reduced to nine.(2) ENDNOTES
