Hamilton Girls Junior High School in the County of Northumberland was established in January 1962. A Junior High School is a separate secondary school that offered junior secondary education only. From July 1968 the school was reclassified as a high school known as Hamilton Girls High School. A High School is a secondary school which offers education at all secondary grades and prepares pupils for public examinations. In January 1974 Hamilton Girls High School merged with Newcastle Hill Boys High School to form Lambton High School. Reference
