Ellalong Public School in the county of Northumberland re-opened in 1868. A previous Ellalong Public School had been in existence between 1858 and 1863 (see Agency No.3692). A Public School had a minimum attendance of 30 children prior to 1867, 25 children until 1880 when the number was reduced to 20. From 1957, the minimum number was reduced to nine.(2) In 2003, Ellalong Public School [II] was located in Olney Street, Ellalong in the District of Maitland.(3) ENDNOTES1.
