Baerami Creek Provisional School in the county of Hunter, opened as a Provisional School in June 1920. Provisional schools operated in areas where the school population was between 15 and 25. The parents provided the building and the furniture while the Department of Education supplied the teacher, books and equipment. The school was converted to a Public School in January 1943 continuing with this status until its closure in December 1970. A previous school had been conducted at Baerami Creek between the years 1901 and 1917 Reference: Government Schools of NSW 1848-1998. NSW Department of Education and Training 1998.
