Full description

The Honorary Awards Committee of Charles Sturt University (CSU) was first convened on 6 March 1991. (1) The Committee reported directly to the governing body of the University, the Board of Governors (later changed to the Council). (2) The terms of reference for the Honorary Awards Committee were to consider all proposed nominations for honorary awards and, in accordance with any rules, resolutions or regulations passed by the Board of Governors / Council, recommend those persons upon whom the University would wish to bestow an award 'honoris causa'. All deliberations of the Committee were heard in camera and any recommendations to the Committee were confidential. (3) The membership of the Honorary Awards Committee was comprised of;
- the Chancellor;
- the Deputy Chancellor;
- the Vice-Chancellor;
- the Presiding Officer of the Academic Senate;
- the Head of Campus; and
- two members of the Board of Governors / Council. (4)
