Full description
A volunteer Fire Brigade in Narrabeen was established early in 1920 and was staffed by six men including the Captain. (1) The brigade's station was in temporary premises on Devitt Street and became operational on 3 February 1920. (2)
The Brigade was initially a part of the Narrabeen Fire District, but on 1 November 1923 it was incorporated into the Sydney Fire District. (3)
The Station was situated in a “Sexton Simplex building" on the corner of Ocean and Devitt Street, Narrabeen. In 1929 a site for the erection of a permanent fire station was purchased in Ocean Street Narrabeen and the new premises were erected in 1931. (4) The Station was equipped with first permanent staff after the opening of the new building. (5) The previous building was sold to Ambulance Authority. (6)
In 2000 the Narrabeen Fire Station also was located at 9 Ocean Street, Narrabeen. (7)
In 2021 Narrabeen Fire Station was situated in the Metro East 2 (ME2) Zone and its address was 9 Ocean Street, Narrabeen. (8)
