Full description

Gulf Creek Court of Petty Sessions within the vicinity of Moruya was created on 18 February 1862 under the provisions of s.17 of the Offenders Punishment and Justices Summary Jurisdiction Act of 1832 (3 Wil.IV No.3). (1)

Spelled variously Gulph Creek, it was known as Nerrigundah Court of Petty Sessions by 3 June 1862. (2)

The Nerrigundah Court of Petty Sessions [I] was abolished on 18 November 1880 under the provisions of the Petty Sessions Act of 1848 (11 Vic. No.41). (3)

Subsequent Courts of Petty Sessions were held at Nerrigundah from 1895 to 1926.  See AG/3234 and AG/6472.
