In 1889 a piece of land in Lismore was reserved as a site for a fire station. A small addition to the fire station land was made in 1908.(1) The Lismore fire station was established before 1903 when a wood and galvanised iron station stood on the site. (2) The exact date of creation is unknown. The Lismore Fire Brigade Board existed until 31/12/1909 when it was taken by the Board of Fire Commissioners.(4) In December 1909 the Public Works Department accepted a tender for erection of the first floor of the Station which was built by November 1910. The Station was completed in 1913 and dedicated on 22 September 1915 (5) In 2000 the Lismore Station also was located at 139 Molesworth Street Lismore. (6).
