Rocks Crossing Provisional School was established in County Macquarie in November 1936. (1) Provisional Schools were established in areas where at least 15 children were required to attend. (2)
In November 1957 the School was converted to a public school, operating in this capacity until its closure in December 1976. (3) A Public School offers basic elementary education at a primary school level. (4)
