Codrington Provisional School [IV] was established in the Counties of Richmond and Rous in January 1937. (1) Provisional Schools were established in areas where at least 15 children were required to attend. (2)
In January 1954 the School was converted into a Public School. (3) A Public School offers basic elementary education at a primary school level. (4)
Codrington Public School closed in December 1978. (5)
Several earlier provisional and public schools had been conducted at Codrington, the earliest having opened in 1872. (6)
