Full description
Montreal Court of Petty Sessions, Bermagui River, within the Police District of Broulee, was created on 18 November 1880 under s.17 of the Offenders Punishment and Justices Summary Jurisdiction Act of 1832 (3 Wil.IV No. 3). (1)
An erratum was issued some eighteen months later to the effect that the Police District was not Broulee, but Bega. (2)
The Montreal Court of Petty Sessions was abolished on 23 April 1883 under the Petty Sessions Act of 1848 (11 Vic. No.41). It appears that it may have been succeeded by Eurobodalla Court of Petty Sessions which was established on the same day. (3)
