Full description

A Department of Transport was established on 22 March 1932 (1) by the Ministry of Transport Act, 1932 which merged the railway, road and tramway administrations. The Office of the Secretary to the Board of Transport Commissioner's of New South Wales controlled all transport "advertising, publicity, investigation matters and activities". (2) This Office would also carry out any directions (through the Secretary to the Board) from the Chairman of the Board of Transport Commissioners.
