Leeton Court of Petty Sessions within the Narrandera Police District was created on 1 February 1918 under the provisions of s.5 of the Justices Act, 1902 (Act No.27, 1902). (1)
The records of the Barellan Court of Petty Sessions were transferred to the Leeton Court of Petty Sessions on 31 December 1972, when the Barellan Court of Petty Sessions was abolished. (2)
The records of the Whitton Court of Petty Sessions were transferred to the Leeton Court of Petty Sessions on 4 April 1975, when the Whitton Court of Petty Sessions was abolished. (3)
The Leeton Court of Petty Sessions was abolished on 31 December 1984, when the Local Courts Act 1982 abolished all Courts of Petty Sessions and replaced these with Local Courts. (4)
