Full description

Finley Court of Petty Sessions within the Narrandera Police District was created on 21 December 1897 under the provisions of s.459 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act of 1883 (46 Vic. No.17). (1)

The records of the Berrigan Court of Petty Sessions were transferred to the Finley Court of Petty Sessions on 4 April 1975 when the Berrigan Court of Petty sessions was abolished. (2)

The Finley Court of Petty Sessions was abolished on 31 December 1984, when the Local Courts Act 1982 abolished all Courts of Petty Sessions and replaced these with Local Courts. (3)
