Dapto Court of Petty Sessions within the Wollongong Police District was created on 1 December 1907 under the provisions of s.5 of the Justices Act, 1902 (Act No.27, 1902). The Brownsville Court of Petty Session, also within the Wollongong Police District had been abolished the day before, 30 November 1907. (1)
The Dapto Court of Petty Sessions was abolished on 1 January 1934 under the provisions of the Justices Act, 1902 (Act No.27, 1902). Its records were removed to the Wollongong Court of Petty Sessions under the provisions of s.4A(2) of the Small Debts Recovery (Amendment) Act, 1922 (Act No.4, 1922). (2)
