PacificGrid Pty Ltd was incorporated on 17 June 1994 as the company to which the electricity transmission function of the Electricity Commission of New South Wales was to be transferred pursuant to the Electricity Commission (Amendment) Act, 1994. Agreements for the transfer of the relevant assets to the company and to facilitate the carrying on of transmission function by the company were entered into on 30 June 1994 and 6 July 1994 respectively. The Company did not trade during the financial year ended 30 June 1994. (1) For the period 1 July 1994 to 31 January 1995 PacificGrid Pty Ltd carried out electrical transmission functions enabling Pacific Power to discharge its responsibilities, this included (2) - * managing the New South Wales high voltage transmission system * providing generator access to the transmission system * planning future network capacity requirements * planning and managing the design and construction of transmission works * ensuring system security and performance Under the Electricity Transmission Authority Act (No.64 1994) the assets and function of the company were transferred to the Electricity Transmission Authority (which traded as Transgrid) effective from 1 February 1995.
