Full description

The Board of Examiners of the Solicitors Admissions Board comprised the Professor of Law in the University of Sydney (as President), and three practising barristers and three practising solicitors. Each member was to hold office for a period not exceeding three years, with one barrister and one solicitor retiring on the 31st day of December each year. A retiring member was deemed ineligible for re-appointment until a period of one year had elapsed. The Secretary of the Solicitors Admission Board also acted as the Secretary of the Board of Examiners. Matters dealt with by the Board of Examiners included reports on legal education, appointment of examiners, examination results, exemptions from examinations, examination costs, and draft examination rules.
