This is a collection of all the journals held by the AFI Research Collection (AFIRC). The Journal Collection at the AFIRC is a noteworthy and important collection of film, television, and media journals. This is due to the concentration of over 800 journal titles all relating to film, tv, and media. Many of these journals are difficult to find, let alone to be found all together in one library. The AFIRC was formed in part of donations by cinephiles back in the 1950s and 1960s. Their personal collections included many journals and these are in the collection today. The journals cover a wide range of subjects and were published in Australia and overseas. The journals held relate to film and TV history, film and TV criticism and film and TV business concerns.
