Full description

The ABN1314 borehole temperature profile was completed on the 13/1/2014 using the CIC borehole temperature logger. Measurements were completed by Simon Sheldon.

Notes

Purpose
ABN is located over the deepest part of the Aurora Basin, and while the location of proposed ABN drilling site is not likely to be a site for very old ice (owing to its relatively high accumulation rate) information on layer thickness and borehole temperature measurements (through 10% of the ice sheet) will assist with locating potential sites in this region. The borehole temperature measurements will provide a temperature profile at the ABN site.
