Full description Meniere's disease is a disorder of the inner ear, resulting in sudden vertigo attacks, hearing fluctuation and tinnitus. Symptoms arise due to excessive fluid in the membranous labyrinth of the inner ear, which can rupture, causing a sudden increase in potassium ions in the fluid that surrounds the sensitive inner ear hair cells. This project aims to develop a sensor for inner ear potassium, and use this to control drug delivery into the inner ear via an implantable device.
