Full description Oral cancer has a poor prognosis. RNA-based therapies offer a new avenue of treatment for these patients. Herein, we will explore the ability of a small RNA called a microRNA to stop oral cancer in its tracks. Specifically, we have developed a microRNA called miR-7 that inhibits the growth of oral cancer cells in the lab and also overcomes resistance to chemotherapy. As a prerequisite for progression to an early phase clinical trial, we will evaluate this novel therapy in preclinical models.
