3PL is a "dataflow" parallel programming language for FPGAs which has been explicitly designed to support pipelining.
The name 3PL stands for "Parallel Pipeline Programming Language".

This software is a 3PL compiler, taking 3PL source code and producing a Xilinx "netlist" (EDN) compatible output file.
The EDN file is processed by the Xilinx ISE software suite ultimately producing a "bitfile" that can be loaded into a Xilinx FPGA.
Lineage: 3PL is the successor to CCGL.
